Irish Post-Hardcore band Peralis, moulded out of three highly successful Irish metal bands are tearing up the scene with their high intensity performances.
How would you describe your music?
We like to describe our music as loud, heavy, groove driven, high energy, melodic infused metal.
Tell us about the history of the project?
Despite only forming in early 2019 there is a long history between the Peralis band members. Ren (Vocals and Lead Guitar) and Moe (Drums) met through Face Melter Records, as they were both signed to in their previous bands Kerouac and Syllian Rayle. Years later Ren and Kalebh (Bass) were both members of Irish metal band Marabou which disbanded in 2018.
What are your influences/ musical heroes?
We have so many influences and musical heroes, too many to list but a few would definitely have to be Deftones, Mastodon, Arch Enemy, Motorhead, Richie Kotzen, Tool, I Built The Sky, Toska, Alter Bridge and George Lynch.
What inspires you?
We find inspiration in so many people we know and wish we knew. Our Families, super supportive partners and friends are definitely some of these people. Others like Elon Musk, Muhammed Ali, Ghandi and Jack Kerouac definitely inspire us to think outside the box..
Do you write on the road? Or do you prefer to write in the studio?
We generally like to write in the studio but inspiration always comes on the road.
What is your favourite song to perform live?
Our favourite live song at the moment would have to be our new single Primal Self, the heavy groove gets the crowd hopping. It’s a total Headbanger!!!
What would be your dream tour to be a part of?
A dream tour to be part of would have to be a Metallica tour. You can’t beat that!
What are your current thoughts on the music industry?
We are enjoying the current state of the music industry. In recent years it has really begun to support new artists and bands. The future looks bright for emerging musicians now with the chance for them to take control of their own careers.
What is the funniest/weirdest experience you have had on tour?
Probably the funniest thing was Ren getting stuck in a lift in a hotel we were staying in after a show. It took 3 hours to get him out. Luckily he was on his way back to his room after being in the shop and had a bag full of food and beer to keep him occupied. When the power outage was sorted Ren was free.
What are your future plans?
Near future plans are to kick into our mini Irish tour to promote our current Double A-Side single. Straight after the tour we hit the studio again to finish off our EP which is set for a summer release. Then we are back on the road so it’s all go in the Peralis camp.
