Golden Leaves is a five-piece indie rock band from Trondheim, Norway.
How would you describe your music?
Well now… with words! It might be a cliché, but we truly think you should listen to music, not read about it. But, we can say that if you like Arctic Monkeys, Rival Sons and The Black Keys, you should find us interesting.
Tell us about how the history of the project?
We have been working on an album for about a year now. The reason it has taken that long, is that we are busy people, juggling work and music, so we don’t always have a surplus of time. But the most important thing is that it’s ready for release now, Friday the 11th of October!
What are your influences/ musical heroes?
Christian, our drummer, is of course inspired by Animal, from the muppet show, both in fashion and musically. Our singer, David, on the other hand hse always been drawn to Dolly Parton. We don’t let that shine thru.
What inspires you?
Javier, the lead guitarist, finds inspiration in his dreams and ambitions. Like our new single, Rebel, he has always dreamt about being a bad ass rebel. Not that you can be a rebel and do scrap books as a hobby. But, a dream is a dream!
Do you write on the road? Or do you prefer to write in the studio?
Usually on the road. The music has to come to us. Torleiv, the rhythm guitarist, has the hardest time finding inspiration, as he needs to get pepper sprayed, and then he comes up with Bohemian Rhapsody-level songs.
What is your favourite song to perform live?
One of the new songs, Dillinger, has a great energy to it, so that one is amazing to perform. But we have also received a great response on Rebel, which was awesome!
What would be your dream tour to be a part of?
Well, if Metallica needs a warm-up band, we would not say no?
What are you current thoughts on the music industry?
The artists should get more of the profit. Period.
What is the funniest/weirdest experience you have had on tour?
Perhaps the time we were out partying with the crowd after a gig, and when we got backstage some folks were starting a three-way. Without anyone from the band. They had snuck in, the bastards.
What are your future plans?
Making the world a better place. One song at a time.
