How would you describe your music?

Alternative Blues Rock.

Tell us about how the history of the project?

We all come from different parts of Michigan, coalescing in the Grand Rapids area. Tim and Logan met in high school, while David and Jaysyn hail from Holland and Detroit.

What are you influences/ musical heroes?

We all listen to different things but The Gaslight Anthem, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Tom Petty, and Microwave. We’d argue those are some of the bigger driving influences right now.

What inspires you?

Our inspirations vary, but in general we write about what’s happening in our immediate surroundings. There are sometimes bigger influences from the state of the world around US, but generally finding adulthood is enough inspiration for us.

Do you write on the road? or do you prefer to write in the studio?

We tend to write different aspects of a song in different places. Logan tends to have lyric before anything else and we build around it. He’ll sometimes come to the practice space with a riff or a few verses and we move forward from there.

What is your favourite song to perform live?

Red Legs “Oak Tree Wedding” is our favourite to perform right now. There’s some heavy emotion behind vocal, but also the music alone holds a lot of weight. The whole room feels that one.

What would be your dream tour to be a part of?

We’d love to hit the road with The Wonder Years. Their shows are incredibly intimate, regardless of size.

What are you current thoughts on the music industry?

There is a definite downside to the artists, but that doesn’t make the art not worth making.

What is the funniest/weirdest experience you have had on tour?

Our trailer tire exploded on a busy freeway somewhere in Indiana, an hour before our first show of the tour. We made it in time but that was an unfortunate omen for things to come on that run.

What are your future plans?

Short term we’ve set up a Holiday Jam with some of our good friends the Grand Rapids, MI area. All the proceeds for the show go to Family Promise of Grand Rapids, to help homeless families get back on their feet. For more info visit Longterm, we’ve already started writing new music, but we’re looking to play throughout the midwest more.
