Rebel’s End is a fresh Belgian high-energetic rock band, based in Antwerp. They play a fusion of Hardrock, Punk and Metal and are inspired by classic Rock- or Punkbands such as AC/DC, Guns ‘N’ Roses, The Misfits, etc,… aswell as modern Hardrock, Metal and Punk bands.

How would you describe your music?

Sleazy hard rock with a punk attitude and some metal influences.

Tell us about how the history of the band?

Drummer Dol and guitarist/vocalist Jeff James have been playing together since 2009 and are also currently active in the black metal band Panchrysia. We have been long time friends and even lived together for a short while. Bassist Stijn and Jeff have a history playing in a fast and aggressive punk band called Cut here and have known each other from the local scene, going to shows and goofing around. Lead guitarist Rutger is new to the band after rocking out in the band Elephant. We are super pleased with his experience in songwriting and fresh energy. Our current line-up is all about friendship, the love for creating kick-ass music and the thrill of playing live.

What are you influences/ musical heroes?

I picked up the guitar when grunge was everything. In the late 90’s it was all punk & ska, wich led to more punk/ hardcore and metal later on. Despite all that I always stayed true to rock n roll with Keith Richards being my all time musical hero.

What inspires you?

Hearing a great riff or listening to other bands is always inspiring. A 3 day festival often does the trick aswell. I try to check out bands I don’t know or haven’t seen before.I get a bigger kick from discovering something new, rather than seeing a headliner for the fifth time. After a rehab day I always have a ton of idea’s buzzing in my head

Do you write on the road? or do you prefer to write in the studio?

I have no preferred time when to write new songs, it just comes naturally. I’ll grab my phone and record the basic idea. Afterwards I take my time to make it a decent and propose the song to the rest of the band.

What is your favourite song to perform live?

That must be our last song of the set,” If you ain’t shooting”. A heavy rocker with an instant sing a long chorus.

What would be your dream tour to be a part of?

As long as we ‘re dreaming, opening for Guns n Roses would be something truly unbelievable. To tour with them and to see that great rock n roll machine play arena after arena every night, even more. Well, dream big or go home right? ☺

What are you current thoughts on the music industry?

It is what it is. A blade that cuts on both sides. Either way you will get slashed. I often hear stories of promising bands I like, playing big tours and what they had to pay just to be on board. Pay to play. That just makes me sad really. We already put a lot of our own money in it and try our best. I guess it’s safe to say we do what we do because we love it. That’s always the main goal. Music or no music industry.

What is the funniest/weirdest experience you have had on tour?

We’ve only been playing for a year now so we haven’t had the joy of touring yet. But those funny or weird stories will come, no doubt about it ☺.

What are your future plans?

We aim to grow further as a band and build on this great first year we had. To play more cool shows and to make a second album that kicks even more ass than the first.
