The Colour You is an American rock band from Baton Rouge, LA. Formed in 2016, TCY puts an interesting twist on the genre by blending hard-hitting, energetic guitar riffs, huge anthemic choruses with melodic vocal melodies, and infusing them with dark modern pop elements.
Tell us about the history of the band?
We formed in mid 2016 by our guitarist Bemo Barnett (ex-Cane Hill). Bemo and Robbie grew up in the same areas of the music scene in Louisiana then met Julian, who lives in Los Angeles, through a mutual friend of Bemo’s. We sent Julian some demos we had been working on and Julian got on the next flight out.
How would you describe your music?

Hmm. Nothing that we can really mention, but we’ve definitely had our laughs.
What are you current thoughts on the music industry?
It has its ups and downs, But there seems to be a new wave of up and coming bands that are going to keep it thriving; Lots of good stuff out there right now!
What advice would you give to someone starting their own band?
Write the best songs you can and have fun. The gimmicks and other flashy things aren’t that important. It all comes back to the music.
